Peacemaking Offering Collected
The Presbyterian Peacemaking Offering supports the efforts of Presbyterians to work for justice and peace through their congregations, presbyteries, synods, and the General Assembly. The Peacemaking Offering is one of four special offerings authorized by the General Assembly. It is frequently received on World Communion Sunday, a time when Christians around the world gather to eat the bread and drink the cup offered by Christ, the Prince of Peace, and a day when we are mindful of our spiritual unity with Christ and each other. The Peacemaking Offering is one way in which we dedicate ourselves and our congregation to the work of justice and peace, and thereby live into the unity we have in Christ.
· 25% remains in the congregation for peacemaking ministries;
· 25% supports presbytery and synod peacemaking ministries ;
· 50% enables the PC(USA) Peacemaking Program at the national level to assist congregations and other bodies in their peacemaking ministries
Our gifts to the Peacemaking Offering are one important way in which we engage in sharing the gospel message of peace by working together to heal brokenness in our world. Please give generously this October.
