Thanksgiving Basket Drive
 
The Deacons invite you to participate in HomeFront's Thanksgiving Basket Drive to help make Thanksgiving special for all families in Mercer County.  Please Sign up to contribute a basket.  Sign up sheets will be at the Deacons table during Fellowship Hour.
 
Your baskets should include:
Cranberry Sauce
Canned Vegetables - peas, string beans, carrots or corn
Dry Boxed Mashed Potatoes
Canned Fruit - pears, applesauce, peaches or mixed fruit
Stuffing Mix
Muffin, Pancake or Baking Mixes
Dessert Items - cake, pie, pudding, pastries or baking mix
Grocery Store Gift Card, which may be purchased at your local food store to cover the cost of the turkey.
Please do not include perishable items.
 
The Deacons are available to do the shopping for you if making a cash donation works better.
 
Our goal is to donate 20 complete baskets.  If you do not have a spare basket to use, boxes or bags, especially decorated ones, work too.  Completed baskets and donations can be brought to the Fellowship Hall.  The collection deadline is November 15th. 
 
Please note that if you are unable to sign up for a complete basket, HomeFront has a great demand for food throughout the holiday season.  Any nonperishable food item will be accepted and will be delivered to HomeFront when the baskets are delivered.

Note:  We are also accepting frozen turkeys for delivery to the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK).  Call Susan Roszel if you have a turkey to donate.
