Blessing of the Animals Saturday October 4 4pm
Blessing of the Animals Saturday October 4 - 4pm
Pets are warm and sometimes fuzzy companions who enrich our lives on a daily basis. They come running down the stairs to greet us after a long day at work. They share their love with us and alert us when someone is at the door.
If you are a pet person, your animal friends are an important part of your life. And, experts say that loving and caring for your pets can give you a longer life. Pets even have their own saint - St. Francis of Assisi who is the patron of animals and ecology.
We at Dutch Neck Church are celebrating the Feast Day of St. Francis on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
You and your pets are invited to join us in the parking lot behind the Education building for a Blessing of the Animals service, which will begin at 4 p.m. The service will be held outside.
We will be blessing pets individually. Before you come, please be sure that your pets are safely in cages or held with proper leashes. Should your pet be a little shy or over-protective of you around strangers, you can bring a photo instead.
If you have a beloved pet that has passed on, the pastors will be offering a prayer of thankfulness for the wonderful memories of the love you shared with this pet. If you would like, please bring a photo to share.
We can celebrate and bless the beloved relationship between humanity and creatures in our care and those who care for us.
We look forward to seeing you and your pets on October 4 at 4 pm rain or shine.
